Profile Settings

Your profile is how the rest of your team sees you in FanDesk. It also controls your personal preferences like timezone and language.

Accessing Profile Settings

  1. Click your avatar in the bottom-left sidebar
  2. Select Settings
  3. You are taken to the Profile settings page

Or navigate directly via Settings > Profile.


Profile Information

Basic Information

FieldDescription
NameYour display name shown throughout FanDesk (in messages, tasks, pages, and the People directory)
EmailYour login email address. May be read-only depending on your authentication method (Google Sign-In)
TitleYour job title — visible in the People directory and on your profile card
DepartmentYour team or department — used for filtering in the People directory

Contact Information

FieldDescription
PhoneYour work phone number — visible to teammates in your profile
WhatsAppWhatsApp number for integrations that support it

Profile Picture

Your avatar appears everywhere your name does: chat messages, task assignee fields, comments, People directory, and status indicators.

To update your profile picture:

  1. Click your current avatar in Settings > Profile
  2. Click Upload Photo
  3. Select a JPG, PNG, or GIF (max 5MB)
  4. Crop or adjust as needed
  5. Click Save

If you signed in with Google, your Google profile photo is used by default.


Status

Your status lets teammates know whether you are available.

Setting Your Status

  1. Click the status dropdown in Settings, or click your avatar anywhere in the sidebar
  2. Choose from:

Your status also changes automatically:

  • You go Away after 10 minutes of inactivity
  • You return to Online when you come back to the app

Status Message

Add context to your status so teammates know more:

  1. Click Set status message
  2. Type your message (e.g., "In meetings until 3pm", "Deep work — will respond later")
  3. Optionally add an emoji for visual flair
  4. Set an Expiry — the message clears automatically (options: 30 minutes, 1 hour, 4 hours, today, this week, or custom date)

Timezone

Your timezone affects:

  • When your daily digest email arrives
  • How calendar events display
  • Message timestamps in Chat
  • Quiet hours for notifications

To change your timezone:

  1. Find the Timezone dropdown
  2. Search or scroll to select your timezone
  3. 80+ timezones available
  4. Save changes

Language

FanDesk is currently available in English. Additional languages are in development.


Active Hours

Active hours define your working day. They affect:

  • The timing of your daily digest email
  • When quiet hours begin and end
  • How availability is inferred

Default: 9:00 AM — 6:00 PM in your timezone.

To change:

  1. Go to Settings > Profile
  2. Find Active Hours
  3. Set your work start and end times
  4. Save

Account Security

From the Profile settings page, you can also:

  • Change your password (if using password-based login)
  • Manage connected Google accounts
  • Generate API keys (for MCP integration)
  • Review active sessions and log out of other devices
